As we look back on Greenfield's America 250 Celebration, our hearts are full of gratitude. We truly could not have asked for a better day to celebrate our community, our history, and the people who make Greenfield such a special place. The weather even seemed to cooperate just in time for our festivities, making it a beautiful afternoon spent together.
First, we'd like to extend a huge thank you to SG Portraits and Photography for capturing so many wonderful moments throughout the day. These photos will help preserve the memories of this incredible celebration for years to come.
Thank you to the Highland County America 250 Committee for the countless hours of planning and collaboration that made this countywide celebration possible.
A special thank you to the Rotary Club of Greenfield Ohio for hosting another fantastic Ice Cream Social, and to Dumbfounded for providing the perfect soundtrack to the afternoon. Your music and hospitality created such a fun atmosphere.
Thank you to the McClain Alumni Association for opening the doors of McClain High School for tours. It was wonderful to see so many people walking the halls, sharing memories, and experiencing a piece of Greenfield's history. The school was buzzing with visitors all afternoon!
We are incredibly grateful to historians Tom Smith and Kevin Curren for generously sharing their time and knowledge at the C.R. Patterson & Sons storyboard. Their passion for preserving and telling Greenfield's remarkable story helped bring an important part of our history to life.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Path to Freedom Walking Tour guides:
❤️ Larry Bellar & Shari Royse-Bellar
❤️ Madge McCoy & Jodi Ralph
❤️ Keith & Carol Grate
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, stories, and love for our community with everyone who joined your tours.
Congratulations to the Greenfield Antique Car Club on an outstanding 58th Annual Car Show! The beautiful collection of vehicles brought visitors from near and far and continues a tradition that has become such an important part of our community.
We also want to thank Mayor Chris Borreson for ringing the bell at 9:00 a.m. to officially kick off Greenfield's celebration. And to every church, business, organization, and resident who joined in by ringing bells throughout our community...thank you. Hearing those bells ring across Greenfield was a truly special moment and a wonderful way to celebrate America's 250th birthday together.
Most importantly, thank you to every volunteer who gave their time before, during, and after the event. From planning meetings to setup, greeting visitors, directing traffic, answering questions, cleaning up, and everything in between, this celebration simply would not have happened without you.
And finally, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Whether you attended a tour, admired the classic cars, enjoyed some ice cream, listened to music, visited the C.R. Patterson display, or simply spent time downtown with friends and family, you helped make this day one to remember.
Here's to honoring our past, celebrating our present, and looking forward to the next 250 years. ❤️
