🌟 Local Spotlight: Carol Grate 🌟

Let’s give a big round of applause to Greenfield’s own Carol Grate, who at age 74 rushed to an incredible 2nd‑place finish in the 5K race at the 2025 National Senior Olympics on July 24—out of a field of 44 competitors in the 70–74 age group!

What makes this feat even more inspiring: earlier in the year, Carol suffered a serious injured left arm that required surgery and physical therapy. But she didn’t let that stop her—despite the setback, she recovered and qualified in June by winning the 800 m and 1500 m races and placing second in the 200 m at the Ohio Senior Games.

Carol’s dedication, resilience, and spirit prove that age is no barrier to excellence—especially when grit meets passion. Let’s cheer her on as she aims even higher next year!

🏅 Congratulations, Carol! Here’s to many more strides, smiles, and medals ahead!
