🌟 4th Quarter Volunteer Spotlight 🌟

Congratulations to Paul Cunningham!

Paul’s passion for community shines through everything he does. He reminds us that a strong community isn’t something that’s built — it’s something that’s lived.

“I used to think a community was a place built by tax dollars... But the older I get, the more I realize that a community isn't a place at all! It is simply us—all of us—living our lives, working our jobs, pursuing our hobbies, solving our problems.

And all it takes to build a great community is for each of us to help our neighbors, shop our stores, volunteer our time and talent, and yes, pay our taxes, too. It doesn't take much, and if we all do a little, it adds up quick! That's why I choose to help local organizations like Main Street Downtown Greenfield. It's an opportunity to collectively say, ‘We're building a great community... and IT’S US!’”

Thank you, Paul, for leading by example and reminding us what community truly means. 💚

🌟 3rd Quarter Volunteer Spotlight: John King 🌟

Main Street Downtown Greenfield is proud to announce that our Volunteer Spotlight of the Quarter is none other than John King!

John is a true Greenfield native and McClain High School graduate whose love for his hometown shines through everything he does. Though he now resides in southeast Highland County with his wife, Shirley, and the many critters that share their wooded property, John’s heart has never left Greenfield.

His dedication to preserving history—especially local history—has made an incredible impact. John devotes countless hours volunteering with organizations including Main Street Greenfield, the Greenfield Historical Society, the Highland County Historical Society, and SHARE (a group he founded in 2019 to bring together the leaders of Highland County’s four major historical societies).

One of John’s most notable contributions has been his tireless work at the Old Burying Ground. For more than a decade, he has been at the forefront of efforts to preserve and honor this historic cemetery. In April 2025, John proudly accepted an award from Scenic Ohio, recognizing the outstanding preservation work being done at the site.

John’s passion, dedication, and leadership have helped ensure that Greenfield’s rich history will be remembered for generations to come. We are so grateful for all he does—and honored to shine the spotlight on him this quarter.

👏 Thank you, John!

2nd Quarter Volunteer Spotlight: Lynn Riggs!

We are thrilled to highlight Lynn Riggs as Main Street Downtown Greenfield's quarterly volunteer! Lynn's dedication and passion for revitalizing our downtown district inspires us all. Through events like the Spring Fling and Greene Countrie Towne Holiday Shopping Trail, she helps bring business to town and support local crafters.

Here is what Lynn has to say about her journey:

"I was asked to join the Design Committee by Susan Thompson. It took a minute, but I agreed to join.

I want to help revitalize the downtown district. One day, I hope we will have large flower beds at each entrance of town, flowers are very inviting.

I host the Spring Fling and Greene Countrie Towne Holiday Shopping Trail to hopefully bring business to town and help my crafting friends get their wares out there.

It makes me extremely happy when the shops join in with the craft fairs. I’ve made many friends over the years at craft fairs, and now I would like to believe I have made many friends among the shop owners."

Thank you, Lynn, for your hard work and commitment to making Greenfield a better place for all! If you see her out and about, make sure you thank her as well!

1st Quarter Volunteer Spotlight: Rob Clary!

“Although not originally from here, Greenfield has stolen my heart, and I call it my own.”

Meet Rob, a dedicated community member who goes above and beyond to make Greenfield a better place! As the Nurse Manager of Inpatient Services at Adena Greenfield Medical Center, Rob provides compassionate care to those in need. Beyond the hospital, Rob also serves on the Main Street Downtown Greenfield Economic Vitality Committee, working to strengthen and revitalize our downtown.

Giving back to Greenfield has been a true blessing, bringing both a sense of pride and community. We’re so grateful for Rob’s commitment to making Greenfield a wonderful place to live, work, and visit!

Thank you, Rob, for all that you do!
